Sal spent the first six years of his legal career working at a prominent New Orleans firm with over 35 years of experience providing a wide variety of legal services to the people of Southeast Louisiana. There, Sal quickly gained valuable experience and made a name for himself in the local legal community. Almost immediately after being sworn in to practice law, Sal successfully tried a case of first impression against the U.S. Navy and obtained a $165,000 judgment for his client. After such a successful start, Sal has continued his confident and capable client representation in a variety of areas. Sal has represented clients not only in State and Federal Courts but also in Administrative Courts including the Office of Disciplinary Counsel. In 2005, Sal joined Scott Galante in his newly formed litigation firm, which became known as Galante & Bivalacqua LLC. Sal maintains a diverse practice, spending the majority of his time helping injured clients and focusing on local and regional small businesses. Katrina's devastation of the local business community left many small businesses in Southeast Louisiana in dire need of help to get back on their feet. Sal prides himself in helping his business clients in all aspects of their business from formation, to expansion, sale and/or liquidation and considers his work for those businesses among his greatest efforts in assisting the community in recovering from Hurricane Katrina. After graduating in the top 5 percent of his class at the University of Southeastern Louisiana, Sal attended the Tulane University School of Law. There, Sal studied nationally and internationally, with comparative studies in Greece and Australia. Sal also gained valuable practical experience while working with a firm providing in-house counsel to State Farm during his second year of law school where he began learning the insurance industry, and during his third year, Sal worked for the second largest law firm in Sydney, Australia while attending the University of New South Wales in an exchange program. Sal graduated from Tulane in the top quarter of his class in 2000.

Faulty Drywall
As if New Orleans area homeowners haven't had enough to deal with after Katrina and the current sagging real estate market, Louisiana residents are now facing numerous reports of a potentially serious defect in drywall that was used in the repair of thousands of homes in the gulf south region.
